The main news of this year is our new addition: in August, we welcomed baby Arden. She’s chill as a cucumber and cute as a button. She clocked in at 8lbs 11.75oz, and came into the world healthy as can be. Leona was thrilled to find out it was a baby sister. Audrey was extra surprised, we were convinced it’d be a boy. Now at over 4 months old, she loves watching Leona and gets a big smile on her face every time she hears her big sister get home from school.

Just two days after Arden was born, Leona started kindergarten! We would not recommend that timing if you can avoid it… While she misses seeing her cousin Henry at preschool every day, she is loving her new school. She started at the only SF public school where they teach Japanese, so she’s well on her way to guiding us on the next trip to Japan. Lots of new friends, new routines, and new germs. We’re all still adjusting to that last one…

Audrey’s business took on a special challenge this year as she had a rougher pregnancy and was out of the office a lot sooner than expected. The team of four managed to keep the ship smoothly sailing while she was away during the pregnancy, and again after Arden arrived. She’s so thankful to have such a small, but mighty team making all the magic happen at Studio Maven.

Patrick celebrated his one year anniversary working at Coda.io this summer. He’s enjoying getting back into the engineering (and adult!) world after a year-ish hiatus to be a professional Dad during the first year of Corona. He's excited about the work he's doing for Coda, making “all-in-one docs” that can be anything from a better spreadsheet to a custom app, with no computer programming required. The big project he and his team have been working on launched this year, basically an app store for plugins and integrations. It's been fun to see what people have made with the “toolbox” his team has put together.

Despite these rocky times, we’re so thankful for everything that’s happened this year and are looking forward to what 2023 has to bring. Wishing you and your loved ones, a happy healthy holiday season and a very happy new year!
